Polyphonic Ringtones:

What is a ringtone?
A ringtone is the sound file that plays when your mobile phone rings when you receive a call. All phones come with at least one pre-programmed ringtone and many come with a built-in selection. You can find these ringtones by going to the menu button on your mobile phone. Most mobile phones can also receive new ringtones and save them on the phone. (See compatibility list to check if your phone supports ringtones.) You can add new ringtones to personalise your phone and make you stand out in a crowd. You can change you ringtone as often as you like and on many newer phones you can store multiple ringtones.

Can I listen to a polyphonic ringtone before I buy?
Yes, of course. Be our guest. You can listen to as many polyphonic ringtones on our website as you want before you buy. You will need a sound card installed on you PC. We have tried to make listening to the ringtones as easy a possible for you, so that other software does not have to open for you to hear it!. You only need to click on the speaker icon next to the song title and you will hear that tone. It is fast, easy and simple.

What is the difference between a standard ringtone and a polyphonic ringtone?
A standard ringtone is also known as a monotone ringtone. This is the original single tone that started the craze of ringtones…like the Nokia tone! A polyphonic ringtone sounds richer and closer to the song’s tune because it has additional “voices”/instruments. A monotone ringtone is delivered directly to the user’s phone via SMS. A polyphonic ringtone must be downloaded from our server via WAP, but the process is very easy and quick. Specific phones take polyphonic ringtones, where as nearly all Nokia phones take monotone ringtones.

How do I save a ringtone on my mobile phone?
Once you have completed the order process, we will send an SMS to the mobile phone number you entered. It should arrive within a few minutes if not seconds! Your phone will display the message "new ringtone received". Press Option and select Playback to listen to the new ringtone. If you want to keep the ringtone, select Save to store the ringtone on the mobile phone. On some models, you will then press "Select Location" and choose one ringtone to replace or the empty field. To activate the ringtone, click on "Menu" select "Profiles" and then the profile you want to change, select "Customize" or "Personalise" and then "Ringing tone". Then select the new ringtone you were sent (should be listed at the end of the standard ringtones on your phone). Certain phones allow you to store more than one ringtone.

How many ringtones can I save on my mobile phone?
Every compatible mobile phones can handle at least 1 new ringtone. Many can handle up to 5 and even upto 7 and some even more. Check your handset documentation or on the manufacturers site to confirm you phones capability. Please verify on our Phone Compatibility page for more information on which model of phone can handle numerous ringtones.

Is my network compatible?
We can send items to most GSM networks around the world. However, you should always check that your Nokia phone is compatible first even if you are on a GSM network. It is important to check the compatibility list before you buy because some Nokia phones can only receive operator logos, some can only receive ringtones and others can only receive picture messages. Certain older phones can not receive any of these items! If you have any specific questions about your handset or it is not on our compatibility list, you should contact your phone supplier or Nokia directly. Our compatibility list is intended as a guide only.
